One Person Dies And Four People Are Missing After Yacht Is Knocked Over During Yacht Race.

One person died and four other people are currently missing after strong waves knocked over a yacht at the halfway point of a 54-mile yacht race in San Franscisco, California. The race had 49 entrants. According to local authorities, the death is the first known fatality in the 143-year history of the San Francisco Yacht Club.

Yacht officials say that it is typical for racing conditions to be rough during the race every year. According to authorities, the wrongful death accident occurred when the yacht was hit broadside by a particularly large wave. The impact sent some of the crew members overboard. As the yacht was turning to retrieve the people who were sent overboard, a second wave struck, and the remaining crew members were also sent overboard. The yacht then went aground.
