\"Boston,<\/a>The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) recently issued its final report regarding the drowning of a 36 year-old woman in a state-run pool in Fall River, MA<\/a>.<\/strong> The report included a number of recommendations and changes in procedures for pool safety. The changes include such things as security camera installation, temporarily closing all slides, increasing staffing, and increasing employment hours to allow for more staff training.<\/p>\n

The investigation began after Marie Joseph drowned in the deep end of a Fall River pool in June, 2011. Joseph could not swim, and her body was not discovered until two days after her drowning because the water was so murky<\/strong>. Massachusetts officials later said that the pool was not in compliance with DCR standards, and should not have even been open to the public.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
