\"Boston,<\/a>Virginia Thurman, the widow of Willard Leon Thurman, who was 70 years-old when he was killed in a car accident<\/a> while working as a newspaper carrier, recently filed a lawsuit seeking wrongful death damages<\/a> against the City of Varnell, Georgia.<\/strong> Thurman\u2019s motor vehicle was struck by a police officer\u2019s cruiser. The police officer was on duty at the time of the auto accident<\/a>, and his motor vehicle was traveling at a rate of 90 miles per hour when it struck Thurman\u2019s motor vehicle. The officer allegedly was not responding to a call and his cruiser did not have any emergency lights on when the car accident occurred. Thurman\u2019s widow filed the lawsuit against the city that employed the officer. The officer has since resigned from his position.<\/p>\n
