The <em><a href=\"http:\/\/bostonwrongfuldeathlawyers.com\">wrongful death<\/a><\/em> occurred after\u00a0the man put\u00a0a letter on the church\u2019s altar.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/obmhzMb0dz4\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"400\" height=\"280\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Monsignor Patrick Jacquin, Notre Dame\u2019s rector, said that the incident was extremely dramatic and shocking, and that this marks the first suicide taking place inside the landmark in decades.<\/p>\n<p>Jacquin said that a few people over the years have attempted suicide by jumping from the cathedral\u2019s twin towers, but noted that he had never heard of someone committing suicide inside the cathedral.<\/p>\n<p>Police evacuated roughly 1,500 worshipers and tourists out of the cathedral following the shooting. Notre Dame reopened later in the evening of the same day, when a prayer service was held for the man who committed suicide and other struggling souls.<\/p>\n<p>The suicide marks the second in less than a week in Paris. Last week, a man shot himself at a private Catholic school in front of a group of school children.<\/p>\n<p><strong>French officials are currently investigating the incident inside the Notre Dame Cathedral.
