Judge Diane Kottymer told the jury that every defendant has that right, and that they should not make a decision or be influenced by the defendant&#8217;s election to\u00a0exercise that right.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/obmhzMb0dz4\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"400\" height=\"280\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Piantedosi is on trial for first-degree murder.\u00a0 He allegedly stabbed his girlfriend, Kristen Pulisciano, back in May 2012.\u00a0 Pulisciano died in her home on Forbes Avenue.\u00a0Piantedosi pleaded not guilty. His lawyers claim that due to hospital medication, he was involuntarily intoxicated at the time of his girlfriend\u2019s wrongful death. The prosecution called an expert witness, who was a psychiatrist for nearly 25 years.
