\"\"<\/a>According to a recent report released by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the number of child accidental deaths declined by almost 30 percent throughout America between 2000 and 2009.<\/strong> However, the report also notes that there was a wide disparity between states in the numbers of child accidental deaths<\/a>. The findings showed that Massachusetts had the lowest pediatric injury deaths in the country: 4 deaths for every 100,000 residents up to the age of 19.<\/strong> The national average was 11 deaths for every 100,000 residents up to that age. The study further showed that Mississippi had the worst rate, with 25 deaths for every 100,000 residents up to 19 years of age.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to Ileana Arias, the principal deputy director of the CDC, it is not easy to pinpoint what Massachusetts is doing right.
