Murder Suspect Attempts to Flee and Crashes Stolen Plane.

Forty year-old Brian Hedglin was suspected of murdering his former girlfriend, 39 year-old Christina Cornejo, in Colorado Springs, Colorado last week. Cornejo’s body was found at a residence where police were doing a welfare investigation.

Hedglin had dated the victim for four years and was recently arrested for allegedly harassing her. At the time of Cornejo’s death, Hedglin was free on a $10,000 bond.

Police were searching for Hedglin when he went to a local tiny airport in Utah and hot-wired a SkyWest Airlines regional jet. Hedglin is a pilot who was on leave from the regional airline. He got the plane started, but then clipped the wing and crashed the airplane into a fence. He then shot himself dead before police authorities arrived.

One Dead, One Injured in Dennis, MA Motorcycle Accident.

A group of three motorcyclists were driving through Dennis, MA when their ride turned deadly.  A 35 year-old Hyannis, MA man was killed when his motorcycle struck a utility pole on the south side of Route 28.  Another man was injured when his bike also struck a pole.  43 year-old Edward Kelly was taken to a local hospital for his injuries and his current condition is not available.

The men reportedly lost control of their motorcycles.  The bikes flipped on their sides, and the riders went flying onto the street.

Another motorcycle operator was traveling with the group, but was not injured.

2 Year-Old Girl Dies When Knocked Out of Mother’s Arms in Saugus, MA.

A mother was carrying her 2 year-old daughter while leaving the Family United Methodist Church in Saugus, MA this past weekend. 

Bystanders said that the girl was getting into a car with her mother when the accident happened. The wrongful death investigation is currently in progress, and local police have not yet released information as to exactly how the little girl died. 

An initial report suggests that the mother was standing next to her car with her baby in her arms when she reached in from the passenger side and turned on the ignition to start the car’s air conditioning.  The vehicle then suddenly lurched forward and the child flew out of the mother’s arms and landed on the pavement. 

The toddler was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the Massachusetts General Hospital soon after the accident.  No criminal charges for her death have been filed at this time.
