Los Angeles Car Crash Kills Father; 9 Year-Old Daughter Survives.

In Los Angeles, California, 9 year-old Celia Renteria was lucky to survive the rollover car crash that claimed the life of her father, 35 year-old Alejandro Renteria.

According to local authorities, the father’s 2012 Ford Escape rolled over and careened off a rural Los Angeles roadway to the bottom of a rugged canyon.

Celia, who was recently released from a Southern California hospital, posted a video describing the ordeal. Celia described how she hiked over a mile to try to find help for her father.

Speaking from a hospital bed, Celia told how she climbed back up the canyon and eventually waved down a passing car. This was after she had hiked to a nearby house only to find it empty.

Despite Celia’s valiant efforts, emergency responders found Celia’s father, Alejandro, already dead at the scene of the wrongful death auto accident. He was pinned in the driver’s seat.

Celia sustained bruises and cuts to her face, but was released from the hospital this past Monday.

Jury in the Wayland, Massachusetts Murder Trial Deliberates with Defendant’s Fate in the Balance.

The trial of Nathaniel Fujita was handed over to a Wayland jury this past Wednesday to commence their deliberations over whether Fujita should be found guilty of murdering his ex-girlfriend, Lauren Astley.

After emotional closing arguments this past Tuesday, the jury is now set to decide Fujita’s fate. The prosecution has alleged that Fujita strangled and stabbed Astley, who was 18 when she died.

At the trial, the prosecution presented evidence against Fujita and performed a re-enactment of the way that Fujita allegedly stabbed and killed his girlfriend, who they say had moved on from the relationship and was attempting to reach out to Fujita in friendship.

Fujita’s defense team claims that he was mentally ill at the time of the wrongful death, and was unable to control his actions or understand the consequences that his actions would have.

If the jury returns a guilty verdict, Fujita faces a potential life sentence in prison, without the possibility of parole.

South African Police Investigating Its Own Officers for Brutal Dragging Wrongful Death.

In a horrific video captured by onlookers this past week, a South African man is seen being dragged by a police truck down a road in a suburb of Johannesburg while he was handcuffed to the back of the police vehicle.

The man later died. The officers responsible for the man’s wrongful death have officially been disarmed and suspended, while South African authorities investigate the incident to determine which criminal charges will be filed against the officers.

The video of the man’s tragic wrongful death has sparked outrage in South Africa, which has seen a rash of police brutality incidents in recent months. The man, wearing a red tee-shirt and white sneakers, is seen arguing with the officers, who proceed to handcuff him to the back of the police vehicle. The officers then get into the police truck and pull away, dragging the man kicking and screaming along the road.

According to the acting South African police minister, the South African Police Service will conduct a speedy investigation and take serious action against those responsible for the man’s wrongful death.

The victim, identified as a Mozambican taxi driver, died this past Tuesday night while being held in a police cell. He was not taken to the hospital to treat his head injuries following the dragging.

The South African Police Service’s investigation into the man’s death is ongoing. It is unclear at this time how many officers were involved in the dragging.
