Young “Bad News Bears” Actress Dies In California Car Crash.

20 year-old Sammi Kane Kraft died in a car accident in Los Angeles, California this past week when the car she was riding in was involved in a multi-car collision.

Kraft was a young actress, best known for her role as Amanda Whurlitzer in the 2005 remake of the “Bad News Bears.”

Kraft was a passenger in an Audi being driven by her friend, Molly Kate Adams, when the fatal car accident occurred. The girls rear-ended a tractor-trailer truck on Interstate 10 before being struck by another car.

Kraft was transported to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center emergency room where she was pronounced dead. Adams escaped the fatal collision with only moderate personal injuries but was arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving.

Driver Of Car That Killed Bicyclist Was Asleep At The Wheel.

Timothy Grulke, 21, of Waunakee, Wisconsin, has admitted that he fell asleep at the wheel of his motor vehicle before crashing into Carrie Pete, 37, of Madison, Wisconsin.

Grulke was driving his pickup truck in Westport, WI at around 11:30 a.m. At that time, he veered off the road and struck Pete, who was riding her bicycle at the time of the car accident.

Witnesses say that Grulke’s pickup truck veered onto the shoulder of the road several times before striking Pete on her bike. Grulke admitted to the sheriff’s department that he had fallen asleep behind the wheel before the fatal bicycle crash.

Pete was pronounced dead at the scene of the bicycle accident. Grulke has not yet been charged or cited for the motor vehicle crash incident.

Police Procedures on Chasing Bicycles Questioned After Man Dies in Chase.

Civil rights advocates have called on the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to reexamine its procedures for chasing suspects on bicycles.

The call for action is in response to a death early Monday morning. At around 1:25 AM, officers were chasing 45 year-old Alfonso Cerda, who was on a bicycle. Police believed that he had a handgun. The bicycle chase ended when Cerda crashed his bicycle into a patrol car and was injured.

Police did not find a handgun, and Cerda later died from his personal injuries.

The Inglewood, CA Police Department is investigating the wrongful death bicycle accident.
