One man was killed and another was injured in Lackawanna, NY, at around 5 PM on Thursday, September 27, when a 3-ton steel beam fell on them.
The men, 46 year-old Sabahudin Ramulic of Tonawana, NY, and 26 year-old Patrick Barker, were both working at the Linita Design and Manufacturing plant when the job site injury accident occurred.
The men were rushed to the nearby Mercy Hospital emergency room with personal injuries. Ramulic was declared dead at the hospital, while Barker escaped with non-life threatening injuries to his leg.
Federal workplace safety authorities are investigating the accident.
